Charthills Pro Newsletter - 26th August 2010
Congratulations to Marlon Duncanson who won the Demelza House Medal. Marlon now gains a free place in the Demelza Cup Pro Am which is being organised by Benn Barham and played at Princes Golf Club, Sandwich on 1st October.
We are delighted with the recovery of the greens post hollow tining. The warm temperatures and regular rainfall have worked to create strong growth and many greens are already rolling true. In early September the putting surfaces will be back to their usual speed and will be very healthy as we progress towards colder ground temperatures and winter weather.
Regards,
James

75 members and their guests came to play 9 holes and listen to the Rock Shack last Friday. Thank you to all of you who supported the event and I hope you enjoyed yourselves. Bill and Susan Sangster won the event.
The Captains’ Charity Day is on the 25th September. As you are aware, this year Keith and Angela are raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Please support the event in any way you can. Enter the competition, donate a raffle of auction prizes or sponsor a hole.
I wrote to you a few months back to offer our members the opportunity to have their children/grandchildren take up free membership at Chart Hills. Many of you did take up the offer but I have also been able to offer places to some other local young golfers meaning we now have just over 50 golfers in the junior section! Anthony is heading up the coaching and has already highlighted some very talented youngsters amongst the pack and in fact one of our new junior girls has already been selected for Kent training!
Regards.
Sarah
