 Play Chart as a 4 ball this winter at the reduced rate of £200 at the weekend (Fri- Sat) and £150 during the week. (Sun –Thurs)

 The 50 bedroom 4* hotel at The Oxfordshire Golf Club is under construction and is scheduled to open in early May 2010.

The Oxfordshire Hotel & Spa is to offer 50 en-suite contemporary guest rooms, 6 flexible conference rooms accommodating from 4 to 170 guests, a signature restaurant, luxury spa and an 18 hole tournament golf course. Located just outside the vibrant historical university town of Oxford the hotel is perfectly located for a city break, golf weekend, business or private event and being just off junction 7 of the M40 it is easily accessible from all major airports and local rail links.

Tolliday and Howell took the early lead with a level par round (playing Better Ball) completing the Oxfordshire in just under 2 hours, but whilst they set the pace in score they could not keep up with the speed of the other two groups.

Following The Oxfordshire was a 50 minute drive to the next centre, Sandford Springs Golf club, Reading, for a further 27 holes. Scores were fairly close but the Dale hill boys managed to extend their lead by a couple of shots by producing a score of 1 under for the 27 holes.

A further 2 hour drive around the M25 gave a welcome rest for the players as they made their way to Chart Hills Golf club, Kent. Completion of this 18 holes would be well over the half way mark.

John and Craig managed to shoot a score of 2 under par for Chart Hills, extending their lead by a further few shots.
Home turf was in sight after a 30 minute drive to Dale Hill, East Sussex for John  and Craig where they were to complete a further 36 holes around the Ian Woosnam Course shooting a  level par round, and finally the Dale Hill Course with a 2 under par score to complete the 99 holes in 5 under par.

Many members supported the players over the final 18 holes and there was a great atmosphere around the course and clubhouse to follow.

The Dale Hill boys managed to win the challenge with the Leaderboard Driving range in 2nd place and the Sandford Springs team coming in 3rd place, although it has to be said the Sandford team would have quite easily won a prize for completing in the least amount of time. 

With the support of all the sponsors Dale Hill Managed to raise just over £3200 which will be split evenly between the Dale Hill Captains charities, Multiple Sclerosis and Muscular Dystrophy. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone concerned in the day for your sponsorship and support at the event. 

The players all thoroughly enjoyed the day finishing around 9pm, and are now trying to work out how they can top the challenge for next year

The club came 82nd on the list ahead of Royal Ashdown Forest The Brabazon course at The Belfry and The K Club Palmer course. A team of highly-acclaimed judges including: Former tour player and broadcaster Ronan Rafferty Sky Sports commentator Ewen Murray former Walker Cup captain Peter McEvoy and Sky Sports commentator Bruce Critchley marked the club in a series of strict criteria and deemed that Chart Hills is among the very best in Britain and Ireland. The course layout was heavily praised and the markers stated that it was; a great courseà and there are so many other holes here that are in a much higher league. This latest accolade comes soon after Chart Hills' recent entry into the top 20 courses in Europe by the Peugeot Golf Guide 2008-2009 and is tribute to a course which is little more than 10 years old and Nick Faldo's first creation as a designer. Faldo is understandably proud of his creation having previously stated: Chart Hills has surpassed even my expectations and I doubt that anyone would ever tire of playing this course. Chart Hills' general manager David Colyer said: This is a tremendous achievement. To not only feature in the Peugeot Golf Guide but also remain as one of the best courses in Britain and Ireland in Golf World is great. We are extremely proud of what we have achieved and it is testament to all the hard work that all of the staff have put in over the last year that the club is flourishing. The result will not come as a surprise to anyone who has played the Nick Faldo-designed course which was previously voted best new course in England by World of Golf magazine and is an official European Tour qualifying venue and hosted the Ladies European Tour event the Ladies English Open from 2004 to 2007

England cricket legend Derek Underwood has been announced as the new president of Chart Hills Golf Club Biddenden Kent. The Kent spin bowler who was nicknamed Deadly for his accuracy and the youngest player to take 100 first-class wickets in his maiden season succeeds former cabinet minister Lord Cecil Parkinson in the post. Underwood will officially take over on September 18 and to mark the handover he will play alongside Parkinson the club's owner Paul Gibbons and former British Lion and president of sister-club Dale Hill John Taylor in a friendly game at Chart Hills. Underwood said: It is a great honour to be president of such a prestigious club. I look forward to meeting the members and enjoying many hours of golf in the future. Lord Parkinson became president in 1993 when the club was opened by its designer Nick Faldo but decided to stand down because he spends less time in the country now. Lord Parkinson said: I am increasingly spending more time abroad with my wife because of this I feel that I can not commit enough time to the club in order to carry out my responsibilities as president. It has been an enormous privilege to be the president of such a magnificent club and I will take away many fond memories. I am sure Derek will be just as proud as I have to represent such a wonderful club. However Lord Parkinson is not disappearing from the club altogether he has accepted a position as a friend of the Leaderboard Group which Chart Hills is part of meaning he can return whenever he likes.
